Lower.com Field is home to the Major League Soccer team, Columbus Crew, at 96 Columbus Crew Way, Columbus, OH 43215. The bag policy at Lower.com Field allows bags that don’t exceed 5″ x 8″ x 1″ can enter the facility. The bags that fans can bring to the game that don’t exceed that size include medical bags, diaper bags, purses, clear single-compartment bags, and small clutches.

Approved Bags

While Lower.com Field does not require a clear bag as of 2023, more and more MLS venues are moving towards that policy, which means the Crew venue could do the same. Here are some bag types that can enter the facility for a match.

  • A clear single-compartment tote-like bag that does not exceed 5″ x8″ x1″
  • Small clutches and purses
  • Small fanny packs
  • Any ADA-specific bag
  • A clear fanny pack
  • Diaper bags

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

My Clear Bag Recommendation

I’ve brought my clear fanny pack that measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ to numerous venues that have the same bag policy at Lower.com Field. From my experience, you won’t have any issues getting this type of bag (or something similar) into Lower.com Field. The benefits of a clear fanny pack is that it is clear and is below the size limit that most venues have in place. Therefore, it passes both requirements that venues have today. On a personal note, I prefer to use a clear fanny pack at venues because it is lightweight and not bulky.

Below is a video of me going into more detail on why I prefer this type of bag.

Consider purchasing a single-compartment clear tote bag for your next Columbus Crew Match!

Fans coming to the Columbus Crew stadium for an MLS match will go through a metal detector before scanning their ticket for the event. Fans who have a bag with them will need them inspected by the security team to ensure they fit the bag policy guidelines of the venue. The security team will review the bag to ensure it does not exceed 5″ x8″ x1″ and has no prohibited items inside it.

What Happens If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter Lower.com Field?

If your bag can’t enter with you at the Columbus Crew venue, don’t worry, there is a locker tent at the stadium to rent to put your stuff in. The bag check tent is at the Topico Sportsbook Gate and in the stadium’s northwest corner. If you need help finding this area outside the stadium, you can ask the staff outside the venue where to go.

If you drove to the Columbus Crew venue and can’t bring your bag into the arena, you can always leave it in your car. Leaving your bag in your vehicle is the best option since there are limited locker spaces at the Topico Sportsbook Gate.

  1. my wife can’t bring a purse thats 8×6 because that is one inch to big but i can bring in a drum and anoy the hell out of every one in sight

  2. From my experience, places don’t actually measure purses unless it looks to be way bigger than 8 x 6. The reason why they set that size is to limit bigger bags from coming into the venue. I’ve personally brought my fanny pack into places that exceeds the size limit and have never had an issue. Best of luck – Greg
