loanDepot Park Bag Policy

loanDepot Park is the Major League Baseball retractable roof stadium of the Miami Marlins at 501 Marlins Way, Miami, Florida 33125. The bag policy at the MLB ballpark is that the bag must be clear and not exceed the size of 16” x 16”x 8”. There are some exceptions with the bag policy, like having a small clutch purse that doesn’t exceed 16”x16”x8”, or bringing in a diaper bag into the venue.

Here is the complete loanDepot Park bag policy and more for your next baseball game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

My Clear Bag Recommendation + My Experience

The Bag I Recommend

I’ve been to loanDepot Park for a tour, not a baseball game. While I didn’t have a bag with me, I did see many people on the tour who did. Even on a tour, you had to have a clear bag with you to enter the stadium.

From my experience of going to different venues, I’ve never had an issue getting my clear fanny pack into any of them for two reasons. First, my clear fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″, which makes it smaller than the max size limit venues allows. Second, the bag itself is clear, so it gets in because it is a clear bag.

Below is a video of me explaining why I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to games. As a reminder, my clear fanny pack measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″

How Does loanDepot Park Review Your Bag?

How Does loanDepot Park Review Your Bag

Fans entering Marlins Park for a baseball game or other event must go through a metal detector. Fans with bags will give them to the security staff as they go through the metal detector so they can review the bag and the content inside it. If there are any issues with the bag, like the size, or items that can’t go into the stadium, the fan must surrender the things to enter or leave the bag somewhere else.

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter Marlins Park?

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter Marlins Park

If your bag is too big to enter the venue, you must put it back in your car in either the parking lot or parking garage you parked at before getting back in line for the game.

If you took public transportation or a rideshare to the game and didn’t have a car to put your stuff in, the next best place to leave your belongings is at a local hotel or restaurant. Most hotels or restaurants charge a small fee to put your belongings in a safe place at their establishment. However, bars, restaurants, and hotels tend only to have limited space for bags, so it does come on a first come and first served basis.

It will help if you read the bag policy before getting to the venue for a Miami Marlins game because there is no guarantee these places will take your stuff and hold onto it. The last thing you want is to miss the first pitch as you try and figure out what place will hold onto your stuff.
