Kauffman Stadium Bag Policy

Kauffman Stadium is the Major League Baseball home of the Kansas City Royals out at 1 Royal Way, Kansas City, Missouri 64129. The bag policy at the K is that single-compartment clear bags that don’t exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″ can enter the stadium. Fans can also bring a small purse into the stadium for a game or event. However, fans can’t bring backpacks with multiple compartments into the venue.

Here is the complete Kauffman Stadium bag policy guide and more for your next event. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

The Bag I Recommend

Kauffman Stadium has a similar clear bag policy as most MLB venues that I’ve been to. From my experience, I’ve never had an issue getting my clear fanny pack (11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″) into any MLB Stadium for two main reasons. First, the bag is clear, so it passes the clear bag checkpoint. Second, the bag itself is smaller than the max size most venue’s permit, which means there won’t be an issue getting it into a stadium. In fact, I’ve never had a problem getting my clear fanny pack into any sports venue.

Below is a video of me going into why I recommend this type of bag in more detail.

How Does Kauffman Stadium Review Your Bag?

Fans entering the ballpark for a baseball game or concert will go through a metal detector. Fans without a bag can go directly through the metal detector, while fans with bags will have the security staff inspect them. If there are any issues with the bag (or the items inside it), it won’t be able to enter the stadium with the fan.

What Items Can't You Bring into the Kansas City Royals Ballpark

There are plenty of items that Royals fans can’t bring into the K for a game or event. Below are more items the stadium security staff won’t allow inside the venue. However, visit the official prohibited items list for the Royals to ensure no issues on your gameday event.

  • Backpacks
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Hard-sided coolers
  • Brooms
  • Baseball bats
  • Glassware
  • Noisemakers like cowbells and bullhorns

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Royals Venue?

If your bag can’t enter the baseball stadium, your best bet is to leave them in your car in the general parking area.

However, if you took public transportation to the MLB stadium and didn’t have a car to leave your bag in, head to a nearby hotel to see if they would hold your stuff. Most hotels will hold onto your stuff for a small fee. However, hotels can only hold onto your things if they have the space, so read the bag policy guidelines carefully before coming to the game.
