Great American Ball Park Bag Policy

Great American Ball Park is the Major League Baseball home of the Cincinnati Reds at 100 Joe Nuxhall Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202. The bag policy at Great American Ball Park is that backpacks are not allowed to enter the venue. However, fans can bring bags that don’t exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″ for a Reds game, like small purses, tote bags, clear plastic bags, etc.

Here is the complete Great American Ball Park bag policy for a Reds game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

My Clear Bag Recommendation

While I have not been to Great American Ball Park, I have friends who have who brought bags to the venue. When they went to the venue back in 2023, they did tell me that most bags are acceptable to bring into the venue except for backpacks.

From my perspective, I like to play it safe and bring a clear fanny pack to games. Even though this venue in 2023 did not require the bag to be clear, I know that more and more venues are adopting that policy. Therefore, I bring my clear fanny pack to games where I need a bag because it has never been turned away at any stadium.

Below is a video of my explaining why I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to games. As a note, my fanny pack measures at 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Cincinnati Reds Ballpark?

If your bag is too big to enter the stadium, then you should bring it back to your car and leave it there.

However, if you take public transportation to the venue and don’t have a car to put your belongings in, you can see if the nearby hotels or bars around the stadium will hold onto your stuff. Numerous bars and hotels are within walking distance of Great American Ball Park, and most will charge a small fee to hold onto your stuff. However, these places will sometimes turn away bags if too many fans start doing this, especially on opening day, and they run out of space. So, reading the bag policy ahead of your game is best to avoid running into this situation.
