FedExForum Bag Policy

FedExForum is the NBA arena of the Memphis Grizzlies at 191 Beale St, Memphis, TN 38103. The clear bag policy at the basketball arena is that bags that don’t exceed 6″ x 8″ x 2″ can enter the venue. Fans can also bring in a small clear freezer bag. Finally, there are exceptions to the bag policy for medical reasons.

The complete FedExForum Bag Policy guide for your next game or event is here. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

FedExForum now has a clear bag policy in place, as of 2023. Fans can only bring one clear bag into the venue with them. Below are the different types of bags you can bring into the venue for a game or concert.

  • Any clear single-compartment bag (plastic, vinyl, PVC) that does not exceed 6″ x 8″ x 2″
  • A diaper bag
  • A medical bag
  • Wallets
  • Drawstrings and totes
  • A clear fanny pack
  • Any ADA-compliant bag
  • A clear fanny packs
  • A small purse

My Clear Bag Recommendation + My Experience

I’ve been to numerous NBA/ NHL venues that have a similar bag policy in place. Since more and more venues are moving towards a clear bag policy, I now only bring my clear fanny pack to games if I need a bag. As a note, that was the case for FedExForum that recently moved to a clear bag only policy, so expect more places to do the same. My clear fanny pack measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″, meaning it is well below the max size for stadiums. Also, I like carrying this bag with me because it is not too bulky.

Below is a video of me explaining why I recommend this type of bag.

Fans heading to FedExForum for a game or concert will go through a metal detector. Fans with a bag will head to a specific line that will have the security team review their bag. During the bag inspection, the staff will review the content inside the bag to ensure it doesn’t violate their prohibited items list.

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Memphis Grizzlies Venue?

You have three options if your bag is too big to enter the Memphis Grizzlies venue. First, you can see if a nearby hotel can hold onto your belongings. There are numerous hotels throughout downtown Memphis near the basketball arena that you can check out. Most places charge a small fee to hold onto your belongings while you are at the game.

The second option to take is that you can bring your bag and belongings back to your car. From there, you must return and go through another security check.

The third option is you can deal with the issue directly at the gate. For example, security might stop you at the gate because you are trying to bring food. If that is the case, you can eat the food directly at the entrance before entering the arena or throw it away at the trash can at the gate before entering the facility.
