BMO Field Bag Policy

BMO Field is home to the Major League Soccer club, Toronto FC, and Toronto Argonauts, CFL team, at 170 Princes’ Blvd, Toronto, ON M6K 3C3, Canada. The bag policy at BMO Field for a game or event is that clear single-compartment bags that don’t exceed 12″ x6″ x12″ can enter the facility. Along with that, fans can bring in small purses that don’t exceed 6.5″ x4.5″ into the venue as well. Finally, backpacks and similar bags can’t enter the stadium.

Here is the complete BMO Field bag policy guide for your next MLS match or event! I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

More and more venues are moving to a clear bag policy, so it is best to get one of these bags for future stadiums you visit. Below are some other bag types that can enter the facility.

  • Any ADA-specific bag
  • Medical bags
  • A clear single-compartment bag that is no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • Fanny packs
  • Small wallets that don’t exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″
  • A clear fanny pack
  • One-gallon clear plastic bag
  • Small purses that don’t exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

I’ve been to dozens of venues that have the same bag policy at BMO Field. From my experience, I’ve never had an issue bringing my clear fanny pack with me to games. My clear fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size, so it is far below the max size that most venues permit. Plus, I like the feel of the bag, which is important since some fanny packs can feel very bulky.

Below is a video of me going into more detail on why I recommend this type of bag.

Consider purchasing a clear single-compartment bag!

How Does BMO Field Review Your Bag?

How Does BMO Field Review Your Bag

Fans entering a Toronto FC match will go through a metal detector upon scanning their ticket for entry. Fans with bags will go into a different line at the entrance gates to have them inspected by the stadium security crew. The inspection reviews the size of the bag and the content inside it. Assuming there are no issues with the bag or items you are trying to bring into the venue, you can go into the stadium with it.

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter BMO Field?

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter BMO Field

If your bag can’t enter BMO Field for a soccer game or event, you can leave it in your car if you drive to the venue on game day. From there, you must get back in line at the entrance gate to get into the soccer facility for the match.

If you take public transportation to the game, you won’t have a car to leave your stuff in, so you must find an alternative option. One suggestion is to see if a nearby hotel will watch your property for you. Most hotels charge a small holding fee to protect your belongings when you are at the game. However, hotels only have limited space in their storage closet to hold onto luggage and bags, so bear that in mind.
