U.S. Bank Stadium Bag Policy

U.S. Bank Stadium is home to the Minnesota Vikings NFL team at 401 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55415. U.S. Bank Stadium has a clear bag policy rule in place, which allows fans to bring in a clear single-compartment bag no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ for events. Along with that, small clutch bags (don’t need to be clear) can also come in with fans to any game or event as long as they don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″.

Approved Bags

Vikings Stadium, like other NFL venues, only permits fans to bring a single clear bag into the arena. However, the only exception to the clear bag rule is if you need to bring in a medical bag or a small clutch bag that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″. Below are the approved types of bags that fans can bring into the venue for their next event at the Minnesota Vikings Stadium.

  • A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • A one-gallon size freezer bag
  • Clear single-compartment purses
  • A clear diaper bag
  • A clear medical bag
  • Any ADA-specific bag
  • A small clutch bag / small clutch purse that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

The Bag I Recommend

I use the same clear bag to get into any venue I visit. It is a clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ 9″, so it below the size limit size for the stadium. I recommend it for a few reasons.

  • I have not had any issues bringing this bag to any stadium.
  • The bag itself is easy to wear across my body
  • It is clear, which is important.
  • I like the two compartments the bag has. It allows me to put my keys and my phone in the front compartment pocket. All of my other stuff can go into the bigger compartment.
  • Also, this bag is small enough that doesn’t get in the way if I need to wear a coat over it for game

How Does the U.S. Bank Stadium Security Team Review Bags?

How Does the U.S. Bank Stadium Security Team Review Bags

Fans coming to U.S. Bank Stadium for any NFL game or other event will go through a metal detector or hand-held screening at the entry gate. Fans who have a bag with them will also have their bag go through a security inspection. The bag inspection includes reviewing the type of bag you are bringing in, if it is clear, exceeds 12″ x 6″ x 12″, and contains no prohibited items. Assuming that the security team has zero issues with your bags and belongings inside of it, you will get it back to enter the stadium with.

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area at U.S. Bank Stadium?

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area at U.S. Bank Stadium

U.S. Bank Stadium does offer a bag check for fans to use if their bag can’t enter the arena for any reason. As a heads up, the bag check area at the stadium does come on a first come and first served basis. If you know your bag can’t enter the venue, try arriving two hours before the event to check your bag directly at the venue.

Fans tailgating in the parking lots before a game or concert should know that coolers and similar bags can’t enter the stadium with them. With that being the case, plan to leave backpacks, coolers, and any other prohibited bag in your car before heading to the stadium gates for the event.

Finally, if your U.S. Bank Stadium event has no bag check available and you don’t have a car to leave your stuff in, see if a nearby hotel can watch your belongings. There are numerous hotels within walking distance of the Minnesota Vikings Stadium that you can visit to see if they can watch your stuff. Most charge a small fee to hold onto bags while you are at the game. However, there is no guarantee that a hotel can watch your stuff. It all depends on if they have the space in their closet to hold onto additional bags for that event.
