Truist Park (originally SunTrust Park) is the Major League Baseball home for the Atlanta Braves at 755 Battery Ave SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30339. The bag policy at Truist Park is that no backpacks are allowed inside the venue. The only exceptions to the policy are small bags for diapers, medical bags, ADA-compliant bags for individuals, and any bag larger than 5” x 9”.
Here is the complete Truist Park bag policy guide for your baseball game, concert, or event. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.
Approved Bags
Below are some of the best compliant bags to bring into Truist Park.
- Diaper bags
- ADA bags
- Breast pump bags
- A clear fanny pack
- Medical bags
- A small purse
- A bag that is smaller than 5” x 9” and only has a single compartment for the security team to check
My Clear Bag Recommendation + My Experience
I went to Truist Park back in 2022. While I didn’t bring a bag to the game, I did see fans who did and got turned away at the gate. The security staff won’t allow traditional backpacks to enter the venue. Therefore, if you want to bring a bag to the game, try and bring a clear fanny pack that does not exceed 5″ x 9″
Below is a video of me explaining why I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to games. As a note, my clear fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″

How Does Truist Park Review Your Bag?
There are metal detectors at every gate entrance at Truist Park that fans need to go through before scanning their ticket to gain entry into the stadium. Assuming that you are not bringing a backpack and that whatever bag you bring is smaller than 5” x 9”, the security team will review everything inside it to ensure there are no prohibited items. Suppose there are prohibited items inside your bag. In that case, you will need to either surrender them before entering the stadium, place them in your car, or rent out an on-site locker to store those items in before getting back in line to enter the stadium.
What Items Can’t You Bring into Truist Park?
There are prohibited items you can’t bring into Truist Park on game days. Below are some of the most common items you can’t bring in for a Braves game. However, visit the official list before your next visit to ensure the rules don’t change.
- Weapons, firearms, etc.
- Baseball bats
- Large bags that exceed 5” x 9”
- Backpacks
- Hard-sided cooler/ soft-sided cooler
- Tripods
- Chairs
- Selfie Sticks
What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Atlanta Braves Stadium?
If you bring a backpack, a bag bigger than 5” x 9”, or items you can’t bring into the venue, your best bet is to leave them in your car in the parking lot. If you did not drive to the venue and have that stuff that can’t go into the arena, there is mobile locker bag storage on the Third Base Gate. The cost for this on-site locker storage ranges between $11 and $15, depending on the event, and it comes on a first-come, first-served basis.
If there are no more lockers available at the venue, you can see if some of the bars will watch your stuff. However, like the Third Base Gate, this comes on a first-come, first-served basis with no guarantee they will take your stuff.
Your best bet is to review the items you can’t bring into Truist Park ahead of time to avoid any issues where the lockers are sold out and you didn’t drive to the venue to put those items in there.

In the summer of 2023, I brought a
12”x12” bag to Truist Park in Atlanta and all was fine. In May 2024 I brought a 12”x12” CLEAR bag and was not allowed entrance because my bag was too big! Did they change the size requirement???
