Rogers Arena Bag Policy

Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) is home to the Vancouver Canucks NHL team, Vancouver Warriors Lacross team, and Vancouver Titans e-Sports team at 800 Griffiths Way, Vancouver, BC V6B 6G1, Canada. The Rogers Arena bag policy allows fans to bring in bags that don’t exceed 14” x 14” x 6” in size. That means that backpacks, purses, tote bags, and more can enter the venue if it does not exceed the size limit.

Here is the Rogers Arena bag policy guide for your next event. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

Some events and concerts at Rogers Arena require a clear bag, while others don’t have that requirement. Either way, getting a clear single-compartment bag results in a faster bag check inspection at the gate. Below is the type of bags that fans can bring into the hockey venue for a game or concert.

  • A clear ziplock bag / one-gallon clear bag
  • Bags that don’t exceed 14” x 14” x 6”
  • A clear single-compartment fanny pack
  • Any ADA-specific bag
  • A small clutch bag
  • Single-compartment drawstring bags
  • Diaper bags / Medical Bags / Parent bags / Childcare bags
  • A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 14” x 14” x 6”

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

I’ve been to venues similar to Rogers Arena that have the same type of bag policy. From my experience, you won’t have any problem bringing in a clear fanny pack to the game. I’ve been bringing my clear fanny pack that measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues for a while now, and I have never had a problem getting it through security.

Below is a video of me going into more detail on why I recommend this type of bag. As a reminder, my clear fanny pack measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size.

Fans coming to Rogers Arena for a sporting event or concert will undergo a metal detector screening at the gate before entering the stadium. Fans who have a bag with them will have that go through a bag inspection check at the gate. The bag check reviews both the content inside the bag and the size of the bag. Assuming there is no issue with your bag or the content inside, you will get it back to enter the stadium for the event.

Is There a Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Rogers Arena?

Is There a Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Rogers Arena

There is no official locker storage area at Rogers Arena for fans to use if they can’t bring their bag into the venue. The stadium security staff will tell you to bring your bag back to your car and leave it inside if your bag can’t enter the arena. After that, you must get back in line to enter the stadium without that bag.

If you don’t have a car to leave your bag in, consider seeing if a nearby hotel or bar can watch your stuff. There are multiple places within walking distance of the NHL venue where you can see if they can watch your stuff. Most hotels and bars charge a bag-holding fee, so plan to spend money for them to hold onto your things while you are at the home game.
