Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse Bag Policy

Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse (originally Quicken Loans Arena) is the NBA facility for the Cleveland Cavaliers at 1 Center Court, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. The bag policy at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse for a basketball game or concert is that the bag must not exceed 14″ x 14″ x 6″ and can’t be a backpack. That means small bags, like a fanny pack, a clear single-compartment bag, a purse, and other small items fans can bring into the arena.

Here is the full breakdown of the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse bag policy. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

Here are some other bags that can enter the basketball game or event stadium.

  • Single-compartment drawstring bags
  • Small purse
  • Single-compartment tote bags
  • Medical bags
  • A clear fanny pack
  • ADA compliant bags
  • Diaper bags
  • A clear single-compartment bag that is no larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

I’ve been to numerous venues that have the same clear bag policy as Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. When I need to bring a bag to a venue, I tend to bring my clear fanny pack for a few reasons.

  • The bag is clear, which is what most venues now only permit
  • The size of the bag is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″, which is much smaller than the max size at stadiums
  • I find the bag to be comfortable to wear
  • I also like how it has two compartments, which is important for me since I bring chargers to venues

Below is a video of me going into this type of bag in more detail.

Consider purchasing a clear single-compartment bag before your next event!

How Does Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Review Your Bag

Fans attending a basketball game or event at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse will first enter through a metal detector. If you have a bag with you, then then the security staff will ask you to form into a different line so they can review your items at their table before you can enter the arena. The bag check consists of an inspection along with checking the inside of the bag for prohibited items.

Cavs fans coming to the arena for a basketball game should know that some items can’t enter the venue. Some of the most apparent prohibited items are listed below. However, it is in your best interest to visit the official guide of the Cavs to see the entire list of items that can’t enter the arena.

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Selfie sticks
  • Laser pointers
  • iPads
  • Backpacks
  • Bottles, glassware, or cans
  • No outside food (There are exceptions to this rule for medical reasons, baby food, children’s snacks, etc.)
  • Noisemakers

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Cleveland Cavs Arena?

If your bag is too big to enter the arena, you have three options on what to do next. First, you can bring your bag (or prohibited items) back into your car and head back in line to get into the arena.

Second, if you take public transportation to the arena and don’t have a car to put your belongings in, you can see if a local bar or restaurant will hold onto your stuff. Most nearby hotels and bars hold onto bags for a small fee if space is available. Plenty of hotels and bars are within walking distance of the arena, so you will have many options to bring your bag to.

Third, if the item you can’t bring into the arena is outside food or drinks, you can finish them before heading there. If you cannot finish the outside food or beverages, you can throw them out in the trash can at the gate entry before making your way into the arena.
