Neyland Stadium Bag Policy

Neyland Stadium is home to the Tennessee Volunteers college football team at 1300 Phillip Fulmer Way, Knoxville, TN 37916. The bag policy at Neyland Stadium permits fans to bring in one clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ in size. Also, fans can bring in a small clutch bag, purse, or wristlet that does not need to be clear and does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ in size. Otherwise, you can’t bring backpacks and coolers into the stadium.

Here is the complete Neyland Stadium bag policy guide for your next Tennessee Volunteers college football game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game.

Approved Bags

Neyland Stadium has a strict clear bag-only policy in place, but there are minor exceptions to that rule. Below are the types of bags fans can bring into the stadium on game day.

  • A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. As a note, the venue does not allow diaper bags into the venue. Therefore, put anything you would have in that bag in a clear single-compartment bag
  • A clear one-gallon ziplock bag
  • Small wristlets and similar bags that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″. As a reminder, these types of bags don’t need to be clear
  • Medical bags
  • ADA bags
  • A seat cushion that contains no arms or pockets

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

The Bag I Recommend

I bring my clear fanny pack (11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″) to college football games these days. Since more and more venues are adopting a clear bag policy, I tend to not risk it bringing any other type of bag to venues. Plus, what I like about this fanny pack is that it is not bulky, so I don’t mind walking around stadiums with it as I catch the game from different angles.

Below is my video of me talking about my clear bag in more detail.

How Does the Neyland Stadium Team Review Bags?

How Does the Neyland Stadium Team Review Bags

Fans arriving at Neyland Stadium for a college football game will go through a security inspection check at the gate before entering the stadium. Fans with a bag with them will go through a thorough bag inspection at the gate. The bag inspection check reviews the type of bag you are bringing in, the size of it, and the content inside the bag. If there are any issues with your bag or items inside of it, the stadium security staff won’t allow you to bring it into the college football stadium.

Fans heading to Neyland Stadium for a college football game should be aware that certain things can’t come into the venue with them. Some things that can’t go into the stadium are below. Visit the rules section on Knoxville Stadium’s website for more information.

  • Clear single-compartment bags that exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • Non-clear bags, including laptop bags, luggage bags, backpacks, coolers, and more
  • Outside food and drinks that are not for medical reasons

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at the Neyland Stadium?

There is no on-site locker for fans to store their bag if they can’t bring them into Neyland Stadium. Therefore, leave any non-clear-single compartment bag in your car before heading to the stadium. The only non-clear bags that can come into the stadium are small clutch bags and medical bags.

However, while you can’t bring traditional backpacks and coolers into the stadium, you can for tailgating. Therefore, bring whatever bags you want to tailgate with before a game. Just make sure you have a place to leave those bags before heading into the stadium for a game.
