Innovative Field Bag Policy

Innovative Field is home to the Rochester Red Wings Triple-A Minor League Baseball team for the Washington Nationals MLB team. The bag policy at Innovative Field allows fans to bring in one clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 16″ x 16″ 8″ in size. Fans can also bring in a small clutch bag, wristlet, or purse that does not need to be clear, but can’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ in size.

Approved Bags

Innovative Field, for the most part, only allows clear single-compartment bags inside their venue. However, there are some minor exceptions to that rule. Below are the types of bags that fans can bring into the stadium for a game.

 

• A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 16″ x 16″ 8″
• Small wristlet bags, purses, wallets, etc., that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
• Clear fanny packs
• Medical bags
• Diaper bags
• ADA specific bags
• A clear Ziplock one-gallon bag

 

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

I try and only bring my clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues these days for a few reasons. First, most venues only permit clear bags these days, so my clear fanny pack checks that box off. Second, my clear fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size, so it is below the size limit for most venues. I’ve never had a problem getting my clear fanny pack into any stadium, which is why I bring it to different venues.

How Does the Innovative Field Team Review Bags?

Two separate lines form at the entrance to Innovative Field at the gates. One lane is for fans with a bag, while the other is not. The bag check line takes longer to go through than the line for fans without a bag. During the bag inspection, the venue’s staff will review the bag itself, the size of it, and the content within the bag. Also, fans should remove any bulky items, like coats and jackets, during the bag inspection to help the security team review the bag itself faster.

What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Innovative Field?

• Animals not for ADA purposes
• Camera bags
• Computer bags
• Coolers
• Laptop bags
• Backpacks
• Weapons of any kind
• Laser pointers
• Drugs
• Outside food and drinks. However, fans can bring one factory-sealed water bottle into the ballpark. 

 

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Innovative Field?

There is no official on-site locker storage area at Innovative Field for fans to store their bag. Fans should only bring a clear single-compartment bag to the ballpark if they plan to bring one. Otherwise, traditional backpacks, coolers, and laptop bags should be left in your car before walking to the ballpark for a game.

 

If you don’t have a car to leave your bag in, see if a nearby hotel or sports bar can watch your bag for you. The Holiday Inn Rochester – NY Downtown, an IGH Hotel, is the nearest hotel to the ballpark. See if they have the space to hold onto your bag while you are at the game. If they have the space, expect to pay a few dollars to them via the bag holding fee.

 

Parking and Food Information for a Rochester Red Wings Game

Fans can find parking near the venue in Lot C and Lot D. Parking rates for these areas hover around $6, but they can increase for specific events. Parking also runs on a first-come and first-served basis.

 

Fans can only bring one factory-sealed water bottle into the venue for a game. Otherwise, all other food and drink options can’t come into the stadium with them. Therefore, if you want to eat at the game, you must get something from the concession stands in the concourse.
