Huntington Park Bag Policy

Huntington Park is home to the Columbus Clippers Triple-A Minor League Baseball team for the Cleveland Guardians MLB team. The bag policy at the ballpark in 2023 allows small bags and backpacks into the venue. That means you can bring small fanny packs, single-compartment backpacks, medical bags, diaper bags, and more into the venue, as long as they are not egregious in size.

Here is the Huntington Park bag policy guide for your next Norfolk Tides game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

Huntington Park, in 2023, tends to have the most relaxed bag policy rule in Minor League Baseball. Therefore, most small bags can enter the venue after an entrance inspection. Below are the different types of bags you can bring into the arena.

  • A clear-single compartment bag
  • Medical bags
  • Diaper bags
  • Fanny packs
  • A small wristlet
  • A clear fanny pack
  • Traditional backpacks
  • Small purses
  • ADA bags

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

My Clear Bag Recommendation

I try and only bring my clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues. I’ve never had a problem getting this type of bag into venues that I visit. Even though Huntington Park in 2023 doesn’t require the bag to be clear, I still like to air on the side of caution.

Below is my video recommending what clear bag to bring into stadiums.

How Does the Huntington Park Team Review Bags?

How Does the Huntington Park Team Review Bags

Fans arriving at Huntington Park for a baseball game will go through a security check at the gate before scanning their ticket. Fans who have a bag with them will have a team security official inspect the bag at the entrance. The bag inspection both reviews the bag and the content inside of it. Assuming that you don’t have any prohibited items inside your bag that can’t enter the venue, you will get it back to enter the stadium with. As of 2023, Huntington Park has a more relaxed bag policy, which differs from other MiLB venues.

What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Huntington Park?

Certain items can’t come into the Columbus Clipper’s ballpark that fans should be aware of when heading to the arena. Some of the things that can’t go into the ballpark are below. Be sure to visit the A-Z ballpark guide for the most up-to-date information on prohibited items.

  • Animals not for ADA purposes
  • Banners and signs
  • Outside alcohol
  • Glass bottles
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Laser pointers
  • Air horns
  • Drugs
  • Large bags like duffel bags, luggage bags, etc.

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Huntington Park?

There is no official on-site locker storage area at Huntington Park for fans to store their bag. Since most small bags can come into the venue, it will be rare for the stadium security not to allow your bag into the venue. However, if your bag can’t go into the stadium for any reason, you will need to leave it in your car before getting back in line to enter the venue.

If you don’t have a car to leave your bag in, see if a nearby hotel or sports bar can watch your bag for you. The bars and hotels within walking distance of the venue generally have a finite amount of storage space in their establishment to hold onto bags for fans catching a game. If they have the space to hold onto your stuff, be prepared to pay a small bag-holding fee charge.

Parking and Food Information for a Columbus Clippers Baseball Game?

There are numerous parking lots between Huntington Park and Lower.com Field (Columbus Crew MLS venue) that fans can park at for a game. Parking rates tend to hover around the $8 mark. Be sure to check the schedule for the Columbus Crew to see if they also have a game on the same day and time there is a Minor League Baseball game. If there is, plan to arrive around 2 hours before the first pitch to get a parking spot since parking near the Crew venue will fill up quickly.

Fans can bring small amounts of food and one factory-sealed water bottle into the venue. Small food that is generally accepted is things like chips that are in their own bag.

However, you will be in for a treat if you want to eat the ballpark’s food. The food at the ballpark is surprisingly good. Visit the Huntington Park Food Guide for more information.
