Hammons Field is home to the Springfield Cardinals Double-A Minor League Baseball team for the St. Louis Cardinals MLB team. The venue has a clear bag policy that allows fans to bring one single-compartment clear bag that does not exceed 6″ x ” 12″ x 12″ in size. Also, fans can bring in a small clutch purse (does not need to be clear) as long as that does not exceed 5″ x 9″ in size.
Here is the complete Hammons Field bag policy guide for your next Springfield Cardinals baseball game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.
Approved Bags
Hammons Field, like most other MiLB venues, only allows clear single-compartment bags into the ballpark. However, there are minor exceptions to this rule. Below are the types of bags fans can bring into the stadium.
- A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 6″ x 12″ x 12″
- Fans can also purchase a clear single-compartment bag from the team store inside the stadium
- A small clutch purse, wristlet, or something similar that does not exceed 5″ x 9″. As a note, this does not need to be clear.
- Medical bags
- ADA-specific bags
- Diaper bag accompanying an infant
- A clear ziplock bag
My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience
I try and only bring my clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues. The bag policy at Hammons Field is similar to other venues I’ve been to with my clear fanny pack. From my experience, your clear fanny pack that does not exceed the max size limit won’t have any problems getting into the ballpark with you.

How Does the Hammons Field Security Team Review Bags?
Fans arriving at Hammons Field for a Springfield Cardinals Double-A Minor League baseball game will undergo a security screening before entering the ballpark. Fans who have a bag with them will go through an additional security inspection at the gate to review their bag and the content inside of it. The bag check is a combination of ensuring the bag is clear, does not contain any prohibited items, and doesn’t exceed the size limit. The staff may even ask you to remove certain items from your bag to help with their review. If there are no issues with your bag and content, you will get it back to enter the stadium for a game.
What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Hammons Field?
Fans planning their next trip to Hammons Field for a minor league baseball game should be aware of the prohibited items at the ballpark. Some of the things that can’t come into the stadium are below. - Clear bags that exceed 6″ x 12″ x 12″
- Non-clear bags for personal use. For instance, backpacks, fanny packs, laptop bags, computer bags, duffle bags, hard-sided coolers, etc., can’t come inside the venue

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans at Hammons Field?
There is no on-site locker storage at Hammons Field for fans to use if they can’t bring their bag into the ballpark. Therefore, try and only bring a clear bag to the stadium within the size limit. Otherwise, a traditional backpack or laptop bag can’t come into the venue with fans for a game.
If you can’t bring your bag into the venue, you must either bring it back to your car and leave it there or see if a nearby hotel or restaurant can watch it for you. Most hotels and restaurants charge a small bag-holding fee if they can accommodate your request.
Parking and Food Information for a Springfield Cardinals Baseball Game
Multiple parking lots surround the Springfield Cardinals baseball stadium for fans to use for a game. Parking rates vary depending on how far you are willing to park. However, fans can expect the cheapest parking rates to hover around $5.
Fans can’t bring outside food or drinks into the stadium for a game. Therefore, if you want to eat and drink during the game, you will need to go to a concession stand in the venue. Visit the Hammons Field Food Guide to see what the concession stands offer fans.
