Empower Field at Mile High Bag Policy

Empower Field at Mile High Stadium (previously Sports Authority Field at Mile High) is home to the Denver Broncos NFL team at 1701 Bryant St, Denver, Colorado 80204. The clear bag policy at the Broncos Stadium allows fans to carry in clear single-compartment bags that don’t exceed 12″ x 6″ x12″ into the arena. Small non-clear clutch bags that don’t surpass 6.5″ x 4.5″ can also enter the venue. Otherwise, the Denver Broncos Stadium only permits fans to bring clear bags into the arena.

Approved Bags

Empower Field, like other NFL venues, only permits fans to bring clear bags into the arena. The only anomaly to the clear bag rule is allowing small wallets and clutches inside the arena. Below are the types of bags that fans can bring into the Denver Broncos Stadium for games or concerts.

 

• A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
• A one-gallon size freezer bag/clear plastic bag/ Ziploc bag
• Clear purses
• A clear medical bag
• A clear diaper bag
• Any ADA-specific bag.
• A small clutch bag / small clutch purse that does not exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″.
• A clear fanny pack

 

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

I’ve been bringing my clear fanny pack that measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size to football games for a while now. I’ve been bringing that to games for the following reasons below.

 

• It is a clear bag, so it checks off that box
• The bag itself is below the size limit, so I have never had any issues getting it through the bag check
• The bag itself is not bulky, which means I don’t mind wearing it as I walk around football venues
• I like how the bag that I have has two different compartments. Most traditional fanny packs only have one compartment, but I like having two since I bring my charging cords + mic with me as I take photos of the venue

How Does the Empower Field at Mile High Stadium Security Team Review Bags?

Fans attending an event at Mile High Stadium will undergo a metal detector screening before scanning their ticket for entry at the gate entrances. Fans who have a bag with them will have that go through its own security inspection at the gate. The bag inspection includes reviewing if the bag is clear, is no larger than 12″ x 6″ x12″, and doesn’t contain prohibited items. If there are no issues with your bag or items inside of it, the security staff will give it back to you to enter the stadium with.

 

What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Empower Field?

Fans attending an event at Mile High Stadium should know that certain items can’t come inside the arena with them. Some things the security staff won’t allow you to bring inside the arena are below. • Non-clear bags that are not small clutches. (Those prohibited bags include backpacks, duffle bags, luggage bags, laptop bags, coolers, non-clear fanny packs, oversized tote bags, diaper bags, and a seat cushion with zippers)
• Clear bags that exceed the size of 12″ x 6″ x 12″
• Glassware / Glass bottles
• Outside alcohol
• Air horns
• Animals not for ADA purposes
• Weapons of any kind

 

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area at Mile High Stadium?

If your bag can’t come into Empower Field at Mile High for any reason, there is a locker storage area at Gate 2 that you can rent to store your stuff in. The company that runs this locker storage is called Binbox. As a note, Binbox does run on a first-come and first-served basis, so plan to arrive an hour or two before your event to get one of these lockers for your bag.

 

If you tailgate in the parking lots before a game or event, consider leaving those bags in your car before heading to the stadium. Traditional backpacks and coolers can’t come in with fans at Empower Field. Unless you want to pay money to store your bag in the locker check area at Gate 2, you should plan on leaving any non-clear single-compartment bag in your car.
