Cheney Stadium Bag Policy

Cheney Stadium is home to the Tacoma Rainiers Triple-A baseball team. The bag policy at the venue allows fans to bring in one clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ in size. Fans can also bring in a small non-clear wristlet, wallet, or clutch bag that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″. However, traditional backpacks can’t come into the venue with fans.

Here is the complete Cheney Stadium bag policy guide for your next minor league baseball game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game.  As a note, there is an affiliate link in this article.

Approved Bags

This MiLB venue, like others, only allows clear bags to enter the venue with fans. Therefore, unless you need to bring in a medical bag, the only bags that can enter must be clear.

Here are the bags that can come inside the venue with fans.

  • A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • A small clutch bag, purse, or wristlet that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
  • ADA-specific bags
  • A clear one-gallon plastic bag

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

My Clear Bag Recommendation

Cheney Stadium has a similar bag policy to many stadiums I’ve been to. From my experience, I’ve never had an issue trying to get my clear fanny pack into venues for two main reasons. First, the bag is clear, which is the same bag-type that Cheney Stadium allows. Second, my fanny pack measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″, which is far below the max size that venues permit. By having the bag be clear and small, I’ve never run into an issue trying to get it into a game.

Below is my video recommending what clear bag to bring into stadiums.

How Does the Cheney Stadium Security Team Review Bags?

How Does the Cheney Stadium Security Team Review Bags

Fans arriving at Cheney Stadium will pass through a metal detector before scanning their ticket for entry. Fans who have a bag with them will have that go through an additional security check at the gate. The bag inspection reviews both the type of bag you are trying to bring in along with the content inside of it. Fans might also be asked to remove certain items from their bag during the inspection. Assuming no problems with your bag or the content come up during the inspection, you can bring it inside the venue.

What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Cheney Stadium?

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Cheney Stadium?

There is no official bag check or locker storage area at Cheney Stadium for fans to leave their bag if they can’t bring them into the stadium. Therefore, if you don’t have a clear bag, you must leave that in your car before getting in line to enter the venue.

As a note, there aren’t any hotels within walking of the MiLB venue to drop your bag off if you don’t have a car. Therefore, it is in your best interest to avoid bringing any bag to the venue that isn’t clear. Otherwise, you risk not being allowed to enter the stadium with it.
