Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium is home to the D1 college football team, Albany Great Danes. The bag policy at the football stadium permits fans to bring one clear bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ in size. Fans can also bring in a small clutch purse and something similar to that as well.

 

Here is the complete guide to the bag policy at Casey Stadium. Also, I went to the Casey Stadium for a game in November 2023, so I share my bag experience too. 

 

Approved Bags

Below are the different types of bags fans can bring into the venue for a game.

 

• Small clutch purses (don’t need to be clear) no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″
• A clear fanny pack
• A clear single-compartment bag
• Any clear bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. As a note, you can bring in a blanket as well, but the security staff will ask you to carry that with you to go through the security check at the gate
• A clear Ziplock bag
• Any ADA bag / medical bag

 

My Clear Bag Recommendation + My Experience

I went to Casey Stadium for a college football game in November 2023. I brought my clear fanny pack that measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size. The security official did a quick visual check of my bag and then allowed me to enter the stadium to scan my ticket. From my experience, I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to the game since the entire experience was quick and had zero problems with the security staff.

 

Also, I had a few things in my clear bag that were fine with the staff. I had my wallet, phone charger, small microphone, keys, and hotspot device.

How Does the Casey Stadium Security Staff Review Your Bag?

There are two lines via the security check outside the stadium. One line is for fans who have bags with them, while the other is not. I went through the bag check line, and they did a manual check of my bag and allowed me to enter the stadium.

What Items Can’t You Bring into Casey Stadium?

Several items can’t come inside Casey Stadium for a college football game. You can get the entire list of prohibited items here. Below are some of the items that can’t come into the arena for a game.

 

• Non-clear bags that are not the size of small clutches
• Clear bags larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″
• Weapons
• Outside food and drinks
• Laser pointers
• Selfie sticks
• Umbrellas
• Diaper bags
• Coolers

 

What Happens if Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter Casey Stadium?

If your bag can’t enter the stadium, you must return it to your car and leave it there. If you tailgate before the game, plan on leaving any traditional backpacks and coolers in your car before heading to the arena.
