Bob Ford Field at Tom and Mary Casey Stadium Parking

Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium is home to the D1 college football team, Albany Great Danes. The address of the venue is 1400 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12222, and it is on the college campus. Parking rates hover around $15 for parking near the venue, but you can get free parking if you park in the visitor parking lot, which I did when I went to a game in November 2023.

Here is the complete guide to parking at Casey Stadium for an Albany Great Danes game.

In this video, I share my thoughts on the food at the stadium, how I got free parking, and what bag I brought to the venue. As a note, I got free parking because I went to the visitor lot. If you want to save money, consider doing that. The main downside is that it is a walk to the venue and there is no tailgating.

How Much is Parking for an Albany Great Danes Game My Experience and Recommendation

Parking near the stadium goes for $15 for a parking spot. However, when I went to a game in November 2023, I got free parking. I drove up the University Drive West Road and parked in the visitor lot. The visitor lot has free parking on the weekends, so I didn’t pay anything.

My parking recommendation is that if you want to tailgate before a game, you should pay for the parking near the stadium. Multiple tents were set up near the stadium, with people tailgating before the game.

However, if you are okay with walking about fifteen minutes to the football stadium, you should park in the visitor’s parking lot. If you have any questions about where that is, you can ask the parking attendants in the parking lot. You’ll see the visitor parking lot if you drive up the University Drive West Road.

Fans can use the accessible parking spots at the SEFCO lot. Fans will need to present a valid handicap sticker. Check out this link to see the accessible parking map near the stadium.

Is There Tailgating Before a Game?

Yes, tailgating occurs before every Albany Great Danes college football game. Parking lots open up a few hours before kickoff to tailgate. You will see pop-up tents all along the University Drive West Drive road with fans tailgating before a game.

Fans can bring coolers, backpacks, tables, and more to tailgate in the parking lots. However, remember that coolers and backpacks can’t come into the stadium with you for a game. Visit the Casey Stadium Bag Policy guide for the full breakdown.

Also, be sure to visit the Casey Stadium food guide to see what you can eat at the venue.

Should I take public Transportation to the Tournament?

Your best bet is to drive and park directly in the parking lots at the stadium. However, if you want to take public transportation to the game, you can use a rideshare program. The rideshare program drops you off / picks you up right in front of the media parking lot. From there, you have a short five-minute walk to the stadium.
