BMO Stadium Bag Policy

BMO Stadium (previously Banc of California Stadium) is home to MLS Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and NWSL Angel City FC teams. BMO Stadium (Banc of California Stadium) enforces a clear bag policy that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ 12″ to enter the facility. However, there are exceptions to this bag rule, like if a fan needs to bring a medical bag or similar type of bag into the stadium that is not clear or larger than the bag size.

Here is the BMO Stadium Bag Policy guide for your next MLS or NWSL match. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

More and more venues (NFL, MLS, MLB, etc.) are adopting a clear bag policy at their venue, so getting one for BMO Stadium gets you into more places as well. Below are some types of bags that can enter the stadium.

  • A clear one-gallon freezer bag
  • Any clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ 12″
  • A clear fanny pack
  • Small clutch bags
  • Medical bags/diaper bags (If possible, you should bring a transparent compartment bag to help the security team review it at the gate)

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

My Clear Bag Recommendation

While I have not been to BMO Stadium for a game, I have friends who have who brought a clear bag into the venue. They had no problems getting their clear bag through the security check at the gate. For me, I always recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to the game. My fanny pack that I bring to venues measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size, so it is way below the size limit at most stadiums who have a clear bag policy. Plus, I like to wear the fanny pack across my chest since it is not too bulky.

Below is a video of me explaining why I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to games in more detail.

Consider purchasing a single-compartment clear bag for your next LAFC/Angel City FC soccer game!

How Does the LAFC / Angel City FC Staff Review Your Bag?

How Does the LAFC Angel City FC Staff Review Your Bag

Fans coming out for an LAFC/Angel City FC match will go through a metal detector before scanning their tickets at the entrance for their game. Any fan with a bag with them (clear bag, small purse, etc.) will go through the bag check line to have their bag inspected by the staff, along with a metal detector scan. The bag check by the staff at BMO Stadium reviews the size of the bag and the content inside of it. Assuming there are no issues with the bag or items inside of it, you will get it back and can bring them into the stadium.

If you plan to attend BMO Stadium for a match, check out the official prohibited items list with this link. Some items can’t enter the Banc of California Stadium for any soccer game or event are below.

  • Alcohol
  • Any bags (backpacks, purses, clear bags, etc.) that exceed 12″ x 6″ 12″
  • Balloons
  • Coolers
  • Laser pointers
  • Outside food
  • Laptops and tablets
  • Selfie sticks
  • Umbrellas
  • Weapons of any kind

What Happens If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter BMO Stadium?

If your bag can’t enter BMO Stadium with you, you can rent a locker outside the stadium for it. There are a limited number of lockers that fans can rent for their stuff. If possible, you should arrive early to BMO Stadium to get a locker for your stuff before they sellout. If you have any questions about the locker storage area, you can ask the staff working at the venue.

Also, if you drive to BMO Stadium and can’t carry your bag into the arena, you can always bring it back to your car. From there, you must return to the entrance gate and go through another metal detector check to enter the venue. Leaving your bag in your car is the best option since it does not cost you anything to do so.
