Beaver Stadium is home to the Penn State Nittany Lions college football team. Beaver Stadium has a clear bag policy that permits fans to bring one clear tote bag no larger than 12″ x 6″ x12″ into the venue for a game. Fans can also bring a small clutch purse no larger than their hand. However, traditional non-clear bags, like backpacks and coolers, can’t come into the venue on game day with fans.
Here is the Beaver Stadium bag policy guide for your next Penn State Nittany Lions college football game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game.
Approved Bags
Beaver Stadium, like most college football venues, has a clear bag policy rule in place for fans to follow. However, there are minor exceptions to the clear bag rule. Below are the different types of bags fans can bring into the Penn State football venue.
- A clear plastic tote, plastic, PVC, or vinyl bag no bigger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- Small clutch bags that don’t exceed 4″ x 6″ x1″. Essentially, these bags are the size of your hand and don’t need to be clear
- One clear gallon-size plastic storage bag
- Rollable seat cushion (no zippers)
- ADA-type bags. As a note, put whatever you need into a clear bag. Otherwise, the security team may ask you to remove certain things from your bag during the inspection to help with their review.
My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience
Whenever I go to a college football game and need to bring a bag, I always bring my clear fanny pack. My clear fanny pack is way below the size limit at college football stadiums at 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size. I’ve been to a handful of college football games and have never had a problem getting this bag through the bag inspection check. Plus, I like how the bag itself is very small and not bulky.
Below is a video of me explaining why I recommend this bag in more detail.
How Does the Beaver Stadium Security Team Review Bags?
Fans arriving at Beaver Stadium for a Penn State Nittany Lions college football game will go through a security checkpoint prior to scanning their ticket for entry at the gate. Fans with a bag will undergo an extra security inspection at the entrance. The bag check consists of reviewing the content inside and the bag itself. Assuming no problems come out of the bag check inspection, you will get it back to enter the stadium for the game.
What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Beaver Stadium?
Fans heading to Beaver Stadium for a college football game should be aware that certain things can’t come into the venue with them. Some of those items that can’t go into the venue are below. Be sure to visit the team’s site for the most up-to-date information on prohibited items.

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area at Beaver Stadium?
There is no official bag check or locker storage area at Beaver Stadium for fans to use if they can’t bring their bag into the venue. Therefore, if you run into any issues during the bag inspection at the gate, you will be asked to bring them back to your car and leave them there before getting back in line to enter the venue.
