Bank of America Bag Policy

Bank of America Stadium is home to the Carolina Panthers NFL and Charlotte FC MLS teams at 800 S Mint St, Charlotte, NC 28202. The bag policy for a football game, soccer match, concert, or something else is that clear single-compartment bags that don’t exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ can enter the venue. Additionally, fans visiting the football stadium can bring small purses, clutches, and medical bags.

Here is the complete Bank of America bag policy guide for your next NFL game, MLS match, or another event type. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.

Approved Bags

Below are other types of bags that can enter the venue, but the clear single-compartment bag is the best choice since more venues are adopting that guideline.

  • Any ADA-specific bag
  • Medical bags (If possible, you should reach out to the staff before your game if your medical bag might be too large to enter the facility. Use this link to find the email address to reach out to)
  • A clear single-compartment bag that is no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • Small wallets that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
  • Small purses that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

The Bag I Recommend

I’ve had friends go to Bank of America Stadium who told me that clear bags had no issue coming into the venue with them for their game. They said that the security staff reviews the bag via a metal detector screening and then gives it back to you. They also said that some fans did bring in a clear fanny pack and had no issues bringing that into the venue. When I’ve gone to football venues, I’ve also had no issues getting my clear fanny pack through the bag check.

Here is a video of me explaining why I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to the game. As a note, my clear fanny pack that I bring to place is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″

How Does Bank of American Stadium Review Your Bag

Fans coming to the Charlotte venue for a football game or another event will go through a metal detector before scanning their ticket. Any fan that has a bag with them will proceed to a different line to have that item inspected by the security team. During the inspection, the team will review the bag, ensure it fits within their clear bag and single compartment guidelines, and check the items inside to see if they can’t enter the venue. If there are no issues during the bag check, you can bring that into the stadium for your event.

If your bag is too large to enter Bank of America Stadium, you can bring it back to your car in the parking lot and head back in line to enter the facility. Leaving your bag (or any items that can’t enter the stadium) in your car is the best, safest, and cheapest choice if you drive to the venue on game day.

If you took public transportation to Bank of America Stadium for an event and need to leave your bag somewhere, you can see if a nearby hotel will watch it. There are multiple hotels within a short walking distance of the football stadium. Most hotels charge a small fee to protect your belongings if they have the space.
