Amalie Arena (initially Ice Palace) is home to the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning team. The arena’s address sits out in 401 Channelside Dr, Tampa, FL 33602. Many concerts and events take place in this arena, so it’s best to be familiar with the parking situation before your next visit.
Here is the complete guide to Amalie Arena Parking for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Official Parking at the Stadium
There are several parking lots that fans can park at for a Tampa Bay Lightning game. Those lots include the Teal Lot, Foundation 2 Lot, Tampa Convention Center Garage, Pink Lot, and much more. Visit the official parking page for Amalie Arena to get the most up to date information on parking.
My Recommendation on Parking + Experience with SpotHero
From my experience, I’ve saved money on parking by using SpotHero. I’ve used SpotHero to go to numerous sporting events where I was able to save more money at an unofficial lot via parking than the lots closest to the venue. If you are looking for ways to save money, consider checking out the listing above from SpotHero. The general rule of thumb is that the further you are willing to park from the stadium, the less you will need to pay.
The only downside to SpotHero is that some of the parking may be a few blocks away from the arena. I personally don’t mind walking a few blocks to a venue if I’m able to pay half has much as the official parking lots at venues.
How to Book Parking on SpotHero Video
Here is a video of me going over how easy it is to book parking on SpotHero. In this video, I share how to search, how to book parking, and how to get the parking pass for your event on your phone. The whole process is a breeze, and it really only takes 1-2 minutes of your time.
Amalie Arena Handicap Parking Spots
Handicap parking is available for all fans to use for any event at the venue. Look for the Pam Lorio parking garage, known as South Regional garage, for the ADA parking spaces. Fans will also need to show a valid parking pass to claim a handicap spot at the venue.
Can you Tailgate at Amalie Arena?
There is no tailgating at the arena or parking lots, but there are plenty of bars in the downtown area to visit. Some bars include World of Beer, Garrison Tavern, Jacksons Bistro Bar. In addition to those bars, fans can also check out First Fridays – Tampa, American Social, and District Tavern.
However, Thunder Alley is a great area to watch hockey games with fans when the Lightning are in the playoffs.
Check out the Amalie Arena Food guide to know what’s on the menu at the venue! Also, be sure to visit the Amalie Arena Bag Policy guide to see what you can and can’t bring into the stadium.
Should I Take Public Transportation?
One free way to move around downtown Tampa is to use the streetcar to AMALIE Arena. Outside the streetcar, you can also take an Uber or Lyft to the venue. The official ride share pick up and drop off location is at the Tampa Convention Center and Florida Aquarium.
