Can Fans Bring Outside Food or Beverages into Stanford Stadium?

Fans can’t bring any alcoholic beverages into the venue for a game. It is not explicitly stated in their prohibited items list in 2023 that you can’t bring outside food into the stadium. Therefore, visiting their official prohibited items list before heading to the stadium is best to see if that rule changes if you plan on bringing food to the game.

Can You Tailgate Before a Game?

Tailgating makes up much of the game-day atmosphere at Stanford Stadium before a game. The parking lots open five hours before kickoff for most games to set up tailgating. Fans will be grilling food, playing music, and more.

However, if you are with your family and don’t want to do traditional tailgating festivities, there is a “Fan Fest” area across from Gate 3 to visit. The Fan Fest area has plenty of fun things for kids to do before a game. Also, the Fan Fest area has food and drink options that you can buy too before a game. Some of the prices at Fan Fest are going to be cheaper than what you see inside the stadium, so consider getting food there before heading into the stadium.
