Madison Square Garden Food

Madison Square Garden is home to the New York Rangers NHL team and New York Knicks NBA Team. In addition to hosting two professional teams, MSG hosts countless events, which makes it so famous. Sitting at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, Manhattan, NY 10001, you are right in the thick of it in New York City. Here is the complete food and drink guide at MSG.

Also, I’ve been to MSG twice for hockey games, so I share my food and drink recommendations too.

My Food Recommendation for Madison Square Garden

I’ve been to Madison Square Garden twice and I keep doing the same thing via food and drink choices. Before the game, I always go to the Tír na Nóg, which is a bar right across from MSG. Usually, I arrive at MSG via Amtrak, so that tends to be my go-to spot to grab a drink with friends before heading into the venue for a game. You can watch my vlog if you want to see my experience at MSG. I have the video starting at 2:26 when I’m heading to the venue for the game.

For the game, I recommend getting food from the Carnegie Deli. If you are looking for New York City inspired food, you have to get the pastrami sandwich from this place. I’ve had that twice now and recommend that food choice.

Can You Bring Outside Food into Madison Square Garden?

You can’t bring in any outside food into MSG. Also, be sure to visit the Madison Square Garden Bag Policy page to see what you can and can’t bring into the venue.

Conclusion: Madison Square Garden Food

In summary, I’ve been to Madison Square Garden twice for hockey games. My recommendation is to go to Tír na Nóg bar directly across from MSG to grab a drink before heading into the venue for a game.

Inside MSG, I recommend getting food from the Carnegie Deli. I’ve gotten the pastrami sandwich both times that I have been there and highly recommend it. Especially if you are not from New York, you should get this sandwich since it is about as NYC as you can get.
