Victory Field Bag Policy

Victory Field is home to the Indianapolis Indians Triple-A Minor League Baseball team for the Pittsburgh Pirates MLB squad. The bag policy at Victory Field for a baseball game allows fans to bring in one bag that does not exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″ in size. That means single-compartment tote bags, backpacks, medical bags, and similar bags can enter the venue.

Victory Field in 2023 does not require that bags be transparent, which differs from most other ballparks. However, picking up a clear bag today sets you up in the future just in case they adopt that clear bag rule down the road. Below are the types of bags you can bring into the ballpark.

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

I try and only bring my clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues. I use the clear fanny pack because it is smaller than the recommended size, so there won’t be any issues. Also, it is a clear bag, so it fits with the clear bag policy that most venues have today. So far, I’ve never had a problem getting this bag into any stadium that has a clear bag policy in place.

How Does the Victory Field Team Review Bags?

Fans arriving at Victory Field for an Indianapolis Indians baseball game will undergo a metal detector screening at the entrance before entering the venue. Fans with a bag with them that is less than 16″ in length will have that go through a bag inspection at the gate. The bag inspection includes the security team reviewing the bag and the content inside of it. Assuming your bag does not violate the size limit and contains no prohibited items, you can bring it into the ballpark.

 

What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Victory Field?

Fans heading to Victory Field for a baseball game should know that certain items can’t come into the stadium with them. Some of those items that can’t go into the ballpark are below. Be sure to visit the team’s FAQ section for the most up-to-date information on the prohibited items.

• Banners
• Beach balls
• Chairs
• Coolers
• Drones
• Weapons of any kind

• Animals not for ADA purposes

 

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at the Victory Field?

There is no on-site locker for fans to store their bag if they can’t bring them into Victory Field. Therefore, if you can’t bring your bag into Victory Field, plan on bringing it back to your car and leaving it there. Afterward, you must return for another security check before entering the stadium.

 

If you don’t have a car to leave your bag in, see if a nearby hotel or bar can watch it for you. Most places generally charge a small bag-holding fee if you ask them to protect your bag. However, these places can only do that if they have the space. Therefore, try and stop by one of these places 1-2 hours before the first pitch to see if they can watch your bag before their space fills up.

 

Parking and Food Information for an Indianapolis Indians Baseball Game

Over 6,400 parking spots are available for fans to park for a baseball game. Parking rates hover around $10 for a spot. However, parking rates can increase depending on the event.

 

Fans can bring outside food into the ballpark if they are sitting in the lawn area or need it for medical or religious reasons.
