Regions Field is home to the Birmingham Barons Double-A Minor League Baseball team at 1401 1st Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233. The bag policy at Regions Field permits fans to bring a bag to the game. The rule is that all bags will be inspected at the entrance before entering the stadium. Otherwise, you shouldn’t have much of a problem trying to bring a bag into the venue for a game.
Here is the complete Regions Field bag policy guide for your next Birmingham Barons baseball game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.
Approved Bags
While no clear bag policy is in place in 2023, bringing in one will result in a speedier bag inspection at the gate. Otherwise, a regular bag might result in the staff asking you to take certain things out of your bag to help them study everything. Below are the different bags you can bring into the stadium for a game.
- A clear single-compartment bag
- A clear ziplock-style bag
- Medical bags
- Diaper bags
- Small clutch purses and wristlets
- ADA-specific bags
My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience
I’ve been bringing a clear fanny pack to stadiums without any issues over the years. The bag itself measures 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size, so it is not very big. Plus, the bag is clear, which results in a faster review during the bag check process. Even though this venue does not require the bag to be clear in 2023, I still recommend fans bring a clear bag to the stadium.

How Does the Regions Field Security Team Review Bags?
Fans arriving at Regions Field for a baseball game will undergo a security inspection at the gate’s entrance before entering the stadium. Fans with a bag will go through a separate security check line. The bag check consists of reviewing your bag type and ensuring there are no prohibited items inside it. If any issues come up during the bag inspection check, you will be asked to bring them back to your car before getting back in line to enter the stadium.
What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Regions Field?
There are specific items that the stadium staff won’t allow inside during the security check at the gate. Some of those items that can’t come into the venue are below. You can visit the team’s A-Z guide to get the most up-to-date information on ballpark rules.
- Outside alcohol
- Outside food and drinks
- Animals not for ADA purposes
- Weapons of any kind
- Coolers
- Thermoses
- Lawn chairs
- Balloons
- Air horns
Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Regions Field?
There are no portable locker storage units in or around the stadium for fans to use who can’t bring their bag into the venue. For the most part, fans shouldn’t have any issue bringing their bag to the ballpark. Just ensure you don’t have prohibited items inside of it, as that will make them unable to come into the stadium with you. Also, as a reminder, coolers can’t go into the ballpark with you.
If you encounter problems with your bag during the inspection, you must bring it back to your car and leave it there.
Additional Information for a Birmingham Barons Baseball Game
Two thousand five hundred parking spots are all within walking distance of the ballpark for fans to use on game day. Parking does operate on a first-come and first-served basis when you arrive at the parking lot. However, you can book your parking space ahead of time with this link if you would rather do that to ensure you have a space for your car.
Fans can’t bring outside food or drinks into the Birmingham Barons stadium. Therefore, eating and drinking during the game must come from getting something from the concession stands. Visit the Regions Field Food guide for more information.
