Progressive Field Bag Policy

Progressive Field Bag Policy

Progressive Field is the Major League Baseball ballpark home of the Cleveland Guardians (formerly Cleveland Indians) at 2401 Ontario Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. Fans who want to bring a bag into the MLB venue can do so if it does not exceed 16″ x16″ x8″. That bag rule goes for medical, backpacks, diaper bags, and other small bags. If your bag is too big or has items you can’t bring into the venue, you must bring it somewhere else before entering.

Here is the complete Progressive Field bag policy guide for your next baseball game or event!

How Does Progressive Field Review Your Bag?

How Does Progressive Field Review Your Bag

Entering Progressive Field will have security in place via walk-through metal detectors. If you bring a bag to the Guardians venue, it will go through an independent review to ensure that it does not exceed the 16″ x16″ x8″ size and has no prohibited items. If any items can’t go through the venue, you will need to either throw them away or you will need to store your bag somewhere else before entering the venue.

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter Progressive Field?

If your bag is too big to enter Progressive Field, your best bet is to visit a nearby hotel or bar to watch your belongings. Most hotels around the venue regularly do this for fans, especially fans checking out that morning and needing a hotel to watch their belongings as they go to the game. Most places will charge around $10-$20 to watch your belongings, but it does come on a first come and first served basis. Be sure to budget extra time when coming to Progressive Field if you need to walk to some of the hotels at Prospect Ave E or another street nearby.

As a note, I was fine leaving my bag and suitcase at the Hampton Inn Hotels, about a mile from the venue.
