Bryant-Denny Stadium Bag Policy

Bryant-Denny Stadium is home to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide college football team. The bag policy for an Alabama Crimson Tide home game allows fans to bring one clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ into the venue. Fans can also bring a non-clear small clutch purse into the venue that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ in size in addition to a clear tote bag. However, any other bag that is not clear and exceeds 4.5″ x 6.5″ can’t come into the venue.

Here is the Bryant-Denny Stadium bag policy guide for your next University of Alabama Crimson Tide college football game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game.

Approved Bags

Most NCAA college football stadiums have a clear bag policy, which means getting a clear bag for this venue allows it to go into more locations. Below are the different bags that fans can bring into the stadium for a college football match.

  • A clear plastic tote, plastic, PVC, or vinyl bag no bigger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″. A clear fanny pack, drawstring bag, or backpack can enter the venue as long as it does not exceed that size limit
  • Small clutch purses and wristlets (can contain a strap) no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″. As a note, these don’t need to be clear and can accompany a clear plastic bag.
    A clear plastic freezer bag
  • Medical bags / ADA bags. As a note, these bags tend to go through a thorough screening process at the gate
  • Diaper bags must go into a clear plastic bag. Therefore, whatever you need to bring with you to the game should have its items go into a clear plastic tote bag

My Clear Bag Recommendation + My Experience

The Bag I Recommend

I like to bring my clear fanny pack to college football games for a few reasons. First, the bag itself is clear, so it checks off that box for being a clear bag. Second, the size of my fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″, which makes it smaller than what stadiums allow. Third, since the bag is small, it generally only needs a quick visual check at the gate via the bag check. Fourth, I find the bag comfortable to wear around my chest, so it doesn’t bother me to wear this as I walk around stadiums.

Below is a video of me explaining what I tend to put into my fanny pack for games.

How Does the Bryant-Denny Stadium Security Team Review Bags?

How Does the Bryant-Denny Stadium Security Team Review Bags

Fans arriving at the Crimson Tide college football venue will go through a security checkpoint prior to scanning their ticket for entry to the stadium. Fans who have a bag with them will have that go through an additional security examination at the gate by a staff member. The bag check consists of reviewing if the bag is clear, is no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″, and contains no prohibited items. If any issues with your bag or objects inside it come up during the inspection, you won’t be allowed to bring them into the stadium for the game.

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area at Bryant-Denny Stadium?

There is no official bag check or locker storage area at Bryant-Denny Stadium to leave your bag if it can’t enter the stadium. However, there is a complimentary clear freezer bag station outside the stadium at the Guest Services tents to put your stuff in if you need it. Nonetheless, your bag that can’t enter the stadium must go back inside your car before you can get back in line to enter the venue.

Fans can bring backpacks and coolers to tailgating before a game outside the stadium without any issues. However, they just can’t come into the stadium for a game unless they are clear.
