Fenway Park has a total capacity size of 37,305 people. Some days the capacity can be a bit larger if it’s a day game or night game and the ballpark opens up seats in center field where the batter’s eye is. If the Red Sox open up those seats, you may see fans wearing the same color shirt to help the hitter see better. During the postseason, you will see the ballpark add more space for fans to stand which will add to the total capacity.

What are Fenway Park Dimensions?

Upper View of Fenway Park

Fenway Park dimensions stand out from most parks due to the height of their left field wall. The green monster in the left field stands 37 feet tall and runs 240 feet long. There is no other MLB part in the game that has a wall that high, so it makes Fenway Park stand out from the rest of the fields in the game.

In left-center, you will see markings that run from 379 feet to 390 feet from home plate depending on what part you are measuring. The dead center runs 420 feet, and right center runs 380 feet from home plate. The right field foul pole is 302 feet away from home plate and is known as Pesky’s Pole.

Minute Maid Park Dimensions are similar to Fenway Park by having a short porch in left field and a deeper right field. Both Major League ballparks play short to right hand hitters, so power hitters look to take advantage of the dimensions. With both Major League ballparks having a short left field wall, you will see opposing team players at times struggle to play defense to the how quick the ball can get to the wall in left.

Fenway Park Tours

One unique feature of Fenway Park baseball is taking in a tour of the historic venue. The tour of the Red Sox Stadium will give you an in-depth analysis of the history of the ballpark, views from the ground level, the field bleachers, and access to the press box. These tours are available all year round during rain, snow, and sunshine. These guided tours last for about 60 minutes, and there are many different options to choose from depending on what you are looking to do.

To the south of New York City, you can find Citizens Bank Park which is out in Philly. That is the home of the Philadelphia Phillies. Not too far from that, you can catch a game at Camden Yards which is home to the Baltimore Orioles.

Red Sox Tickets

The Boston Red Sox won the World Series in 2018, so getting regular season tickets will be difficult in 2019 for casual fans. Fenway Park is a small park, so seating capacity is a bit limited especially on opening day. The Red Sox on average draw 35,000 people to each of their games, so it’s almost sold out each night.

You will have an easier time getting tickets when the Tampa Bay Rays, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, or other teams shows up that are not competitive. When the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, or Houston Astros come and visit, tickets will be hard to find. Fans can use SeatGeek, Ticketmaster, StubHub, and more to find tickets for these big matchups.

If you want to sit up a bit higher, you should check out the Pavilion Club Seats. You will have great views of the park and the city of Boston. The EMC club is next to the Pavilion Club Seats, so that is another great option too.

If you are looking to save money, you should check out the bleachers and grandstand section in the outfield. Chances are you can walk around to find open seats in either area, so it’s worth checking out. The bleachers at Fenway are actual seats which may surprise fans who are visiting a Sox game for the first time.

Notable Features

Once the proposed new ballpark got shot down in the late ’90s, the Red Sox owners vowed to make the park better. Skeptical at first, fans have embraced many new features that were put into the venue. The renovations took about ten years to complete which totaled $285 million. Many of the notable features added were the Green Monster Seats, upgrade to the Right Field Roof seats, bigger screens above the center field bleachers, and more.

Bobble Head Section at Fenway Park

Another notable feature of the park is the bobblehead section. The bobblehead section has many famous Red Sox players from past and present. The collection of bobbleheads is a relatively new section within the park. LoanDepot Park also had a bobblehead museum, so that is pretty cool.

The Mascot
