Snapdragon Stadium Bag Policy

Snapdragon Stadium is home to a few different sports teams and leagues. The venue currently hosts the NCAA San Diego State Aztecs, NWSL San Diego Wave FC, and MLR San Diego Legion teams on the campus of San Diego State University at 2101 Stadium Way, San Diego, CA 92108. The venue has a clear bag policy rule, which means fans can bring a bag into the venue if it does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″.

Here is the complete Snapdragon Stadium Bag Policy guide for your next event at the venue. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game.

Approved Bags

While there is a clear bag policy at the SDSU football venue, there are minor exceptions to this rule. Minor exceptions to the clear bag rule include medical bags, small purses, and clutches that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″. Below are the different types of bags that come into the football stadium for an event or concert.

  • A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • 1-gallon size freezer bag/clear plastic freezer bag
  • Clear purses
  • Medical bags, Diaper Bags, and any ADA-specific bag
  • A small clutch bag doesn’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5

My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience

The Bag I Recommend

My recommendation for what type of bag to bring to a game is a clear fanny pack. For me, I like using the fanny pack for games because it is not bulky to wear. Since I’m walking around the venue to grab photos and document the food choices, I don’t want to have a bag with me that is uncomfortable to wear. Also, my fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″, so it is very small.

How Does the Snapdragon Stadium Security Staff Review Bags?

How Does the Snapdragon Stadium Security Staff Review Bags

Fans going to the SDSU football venue will go through a metal detector screening at the entrance. Fans with a bag will go through an additional security check at the gate to have the stadium staff inspect their bag. The bag inspection reviews the size of the bag, if it is clear, and if it contains any prohibited items. If there are no issues with the bag, you will get it back to enter the stadium for your event.

Is There a Locker or Bag Check Area at Snapdragon Stadium for Fans to Use?

Is There a Locker or Bag Check Area at Snapdragon Stadium for Fans to Use

If your bag can’t come into Snapdragon Stadium for any reason, you can rent out a bag check locker for it on the East Side of the stadium. The bag check lockers are on a first-come and first-served basis, so plan to arrive 1-2 hours before your event to get one of these lockers for your belongings. Locker rates will vary in price depending on the occasion.

If you plan to partake in tailgating in the parking lots before home games at the stadium, consider leaving all those bags in your car afterward before heading to the entrance. Traditional bags like backpacks and coolers can’t come into the venue. If you try bringing those items into the venue, you will be denied at the gate, meaning you must bring them back to your car. Doing that may mean you miss kickoff, so plan to leave any non-compliant bag in your vehicle.
