Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is the spring training ballpark home to the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals baseball teams. The bag policy at the venue is a “no-bag policy,” which differs from most other spring training venues. The only exceptions to the “no-bag policy rule” are that fans who need to bring in a medical bag/diaper bag and small clutch purses can enter the venue.
Here is the complete Roger Dean Stadium bag policy.
Approved Bags
As of February 2024, the official bag policy at Roger Dean Stadium is that fans can’t bring bags into the venue. That means regular backpacks for personal use are not allowed. Below are the only types of bags fans can bring into the venue due to the specific exceptions the staff can make at the gate. Try bringing a clear-type bag to the items below to make it easier for the staff to review them at the gate.
- Medical bags
- ADA bags
- Diaper bags
- Small clutch purses
My Clear Bag Recommendation for Stadiums
I’ve had community members go to the stadium for a spring training game and bring a clear compartment bag as their diaper bag. The general rule I was told is that the stadium security staff will allow a clear single-compartment bag to enter if it is for diaper use. You must also have your child with you to have that approved to enter the stadium. Therefore, if you need to bring a diaper bag or something similar into the venue, consider bringing a clear one to make it easier for the staff to review.
Buy a single-compartment-approved clear bag for your next spring training game!
How Does the Staff Review Bags at the Gate?
The staff at Roger Dean Stadium makes it clear that they have a no-bag policy. Therefore, unless you need a bag for medical or baby reasons, you won’t be allowed to bring a bag into the stadium. If a fan does need to bring a bag into the venue, that will go through an additional security check at the gate.
One tip to improve your chances of getting a bag into the venue is to bring a clear bag. The clear bag still needs to be for medical / diaper bag reasons, but the clear bag will make it easier for the staff to review at the gate.
However, it is up to the staff to approve or disapprove any bag a fan wants to bring into the venue. If it is apparent that this bag is for medical / baby reasons, it will be allowed at the gate.
What are the Prohibited Items?
Fans coming to Roger Dean Stadium for a game should know that certain items can’t go with them. Here is a link to the team’s A-Z guide if you want the most up-to-date information on the banned items. Below are some more obvious items that can’t come inside the arena.
- Alcohol
- Animals not for ADA purposes
- Outside food and drinks
- Personal bags (not medical or diaper bags)
- Weapons of any kind
- Drones
- Skateboards
- Brooms
What Should You Do If Your Bag Can’t Enter the Venue?
Roger Dean Stadium has a stricter bag policy rule than other spring training venues. Therefore, if you are doing a road trip and visiting multiple venues over a week, you should refrain from bringing any bag to this venue. The only bags that the staff allow are ones for medical reasons.
If your bag can’t come into the venue with you, you must bring it back to your car and leave it there. From there, you must get back in line for another security check at the gate before entering the stadium.
If you don’t have a car to leave your bag at, you can see if the Courtyard by Marriot Palm Beach Jupiter Hotel can watch it for you. That hotel is less than a half mile from the venue, making walking easy. Most hotels charge a small bag holding fee for fans who use them for this service.
