NBT Bank Stadium is home to the Syracuse Mets Triple-A Minor League Baseball team for the New York Mets MLB squad. The bag policy at the ballpark allows fans to bring in one clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ in size. Fans can also bring in a small purse or clutch bag in addition to the clear single-compartment bag as long as that does not exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″ in size.
Here is the complete NBT Bank Stadium bag policy guide for your next Syracuse Mets game. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.
Approved Bags
NBT Bank Stadium, like most Minor League Baseball Venues, has a clear bag policy. However, there are minor exceptions to the bag policy rule. Below are the types of bags that fans can bring into the stadium.
- A small clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- One-gallon clear plastic bag
- Small purses, wristlets, and clutch bags that don’t exceed 6.5″ x 4.5″
- Diaper bag
- Medical bags
- ADA bags
My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience
I try and only bring my clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues these days for a few reasons. First, most venues, like NBT Bank Stadium, only allow clear bags to enter. Second, the size of my bag tends to be on the smaller size, so it won’t exceed the bag size limit at venues. So far, I’ve never had a problem bringing my clear fanny pack into any stadium that I visit.
Below is my video recommending what clear bag to bring into stadiums.

How Does the NBT Bank Stadium Team Review Bags?
Fans arriving at NBT Bank Stadium for a baseball game will pass through a metal detector screening at the gate before scanning their ticket for entry. Fans with a bag will undergo an additional security inspection check at the entrance. The bag inspection reviews the type of bag you are bringing in and the items inside of it. Assuming your bag is clear and doesn’t have prohibited items inside, you should be able to bring it into the ballpark.
What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into NBT Bank Stadium?
Some items can’t enter NBT Bank Stadium with fans for a game. Some things the stadium staff won’t allow inside the venue are below. Feel free to visit the team’s official A-Z guide for more information on the banned items list.
- Non-clear bags
- Clear bags larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- Beach balls
- Glass bottles
- Fireworks
- Weapons of any kind
- Laser pointers
- Skateboards
- Selfie sticks
- Hard-sided coolers
- Outside food and drinks
Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at NBT Bank Stadium?
There is no official locker storage option at NBT Bank Stadium for fans to use if they can’t bring their bag into the venue. Therefore, unless you plan on bringing a clear single-compartment bag into the venue for a game, consider leaving all other types of bags at home before driving to the stadium.
If you take public transportation to the game and don’t have a car to leave your bag in, see if a nearby bar or restaurant can watch your stuff. There are a few places within walking distance of NBT Bank Stadium that you can visit before a game. Restaurants, in general, usually have a small amount of storage space where they can hold onto bags for fans going to the game. Expect to pay a small bag holding fee if they can accommodate your request.
Parking and Food Information for a Syracuse Mets Baseball Game
There are parking lots behind the first base and home plate side of the venue for fans to use for parking. Parking rates hover around $7 for a parking space. However, parking rates can vary depending on the event. Also, parking and accessible parking operate on a first-come and first-served basis, so plan to arrive early before a game to get a spot.
Fans can’t bring any outside food or drinks into the ballpark. Therefore, if you want to eat at the game, you will need to go to the concession stands. Visit the NBT Bank Stadium Food Guide for more details.
