Michigan Stadium (the Big House) is home to the University of Michigan Wolverines NCAA Football Team at 1201 S Main St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. There is a strict no-bag policy at Michigan Stadium. The only exception to this no-bag policy is that the stadium security staff will allow medical bags and similar packs into the venue. Otherwise, all traditional backpacks and more can’t enter the venue on game day with fans.

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area for Fans to Use at Michigan Stadium?

Yes, there is a bag check and locker storage area at Michigan Stadium for fans to use to leave their bag at before a game. The bag check area is at the South Entrance of the venue. The bag check operates on a first come and first served basis and closes after forty-five minutes after the football game. Plan to arrive here two hours before kickoff to get a spot for your bag if you know you can’t bring it into the arena.

 

If you plan on partaking in tailgating in the parking lots before a college football game, leave all bags in a car before walking to the stadium. As a reminder, Michigan Stadium has a no-bag policy, which means backpacks and coolers can’t come into the venue with fans. However, feel free to bring coolers and more to the parking lots for tailgating before a game.

 

As a note, there aren’t hotels within walking distance of the Michigan Stadium to see if they can watch your bag for you when you are attending a game. Therefore, you must either use the bag check area directly at the stadium for your stuff or leave your bag in your car before walking to the stadium.

 

Parking and Food Information for a University of Michigan Football Game

The parking lots at Michigan Stadium open anytime between 6 and 8 AM, depending on when the game will start. Parking rates will vary depending on where you park, but you can expect to pay around $20 for parking.

 

Fans can’t bring any outside food into Michigan Stadium. However, the exception to this rule is if you need to bring in something for medical or religious reasons. Otherwise, if you want to eat the game, you will need to get the food from the concession stands at the venue.
