JetBlue Park is the spring training home to the Boston Red Sox. As of March 2024, the stadium security team permits fans to bring in single-compartment bags that don’t exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″ in size. The Boston Red Sox spring training security team highly recommends that these single-compartment bags be clear to help with the bag inspection at the gate, but they are not required. Finally, there are exceptions to the bag size rule for items like a diaper, medical, or ADA-type bags.
Below is the complete guide to JetBlue Park via their bag policy. As a note, there is an affiliate link on this page.
Approved Bags
As of March 2024, the official bag policy at JetBlue Park only permits fans to bring medical and diaper bags into the venue. Otherwise, a traditional backpack can’t come into the venue. While the diaper / medical bag does not need to be clear, you should bring one in, which will help result in a faster security check at the gate.
- Single-compartment bags that don’t exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″
- A clear single-compartment bag that does not exceed 12″ x 12 x 6″ (fanny packs, totes, etc.)
- Small clutch purse
- Medical Bags
- ADA-type of bags
- Diaper bags
My Clear Bag Recommendation for Stadiums these Days
I tend to bring a clear fanny pack (11 ” x 6.5″ x 5.9″) into stadiums these days for a few reasons:
- My fanny pack is below 12 inches, below the maximum size limit for venues.
- It is clear, making the visual inspection at the gate quick.
- It is comfortable to wear since it is not bulky, so I am okay walking around venues with it as I catch the game from different angles.
Buy a single-compartment-approved clear bag for your next spring training game!
How Does the Staff Review Bags at the Gate?
All bags are subject to inspection by security personnel upon entry. As a reminder, traditional bags, like backpacks and coolers, can’t enter the venue. The only exception for bags is if fans need to bring medical bags or diaper bags into the venue. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow sufficient time for the security screening process.
What are the Prohibited Items that can’t Come into the Venue?
Fans heading to JetBlue Park for a spring training baseball game should know that certain items can’t come to the venue with them. Be sure to read the list of prohibited items from mlb.com, as the list can be updated before your game. Below are some items on the list that can’t enter the venue.
- Backpacks, duffel bags, or large purses
- Any single-compartment bag that exceeds 12″ x 12″ x 6″
- Coolers or containers
- Weapons of any kind
- Pepper Spray
- Cans / Bottles
- Beach Balls
- Laser Pointers
- Briefcases
What Should You Do If Your Bag Can’t Enter the Venue?
For the most part, you shouldn’t have much of an issue getting a bag into the stadium. However, if your bag is too big or has prohibited items, you must bring the bag and the items back to your car and leave it there before heading back to the stadium.
If you don’t have a car to leave your bag at, consider going to a hotel about 1.5 miles from the venue to see if they can hold onto it. From my experience, I’ve never had an issue having a hotel hold onto my bag while I’m at a game. There is usually a small bag-holding fee for this type of service.
