Fenway Park is the Major League Baseball home of the Boston Red Sox at 4 Jersey St, Boston, Massachusetts 02215. The bag policy at the ballpark is clear bags (not backpacks) that don’t exceed 12 “x12″ x6” can come into the stadium. However, there are exceptions to the bag policy rule, such as if you are bringing in a medical or diaper bag and need that during the game.
Here is the Fenway Park bag policy guide for your next Boston Red Sox game or event.
How Does Fenway Park Review Your Bag?
There are metal detectors that fans must go through when coming to the most beloved ballpark in MLB. If you have a bag with you, the security staff will review that separately to ensure it fits within the bag policy of the venue. If there are any prohibited items in your bag, or if your bag itself cannot come into the stadium, there are lockers behind the Green Monster that fans can use to store their items.
Here are some approved bags to bring into the MLB ballpark that comply with Fenway Park’s bag policy. Buy a clear bag for your next stadium visit!
- A clear bag single-compartment bag not exceeding the size of 12 “x12″ x6”
- A small purse / small clutches that only have a single compartment
- An ADA-approved bag
- A medical bag
- A diaper bag
What Items Can’t You Bring into Fenway Park on Game Day?
Numerous items can’t enter Fenway Park for a baseball game, concert, or another event. Below are some of the most common things that can’t enter the stadium. However, it is best to visit the official prohibited items list from the Boston Red Sox before your next visit to ensure the rules stay the same.
- Any bag that is larger than 12 “x12″ x6” (however, if this is for a medical reason, the stadium staff will review it at the gate)
- Weapons of any kind
- Glass containers
- Alcoholic beverages
- Hard-sided coolers
- Laser pointers
- Tri pods
What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Red Sox Stadium?
If your bag is too big to enter the venue or if you have prohibited items that can’t go into the venue, there is an on-site luggage storage option to use at the Lansdowne Garage directly across from Gate E. There are a limited number of these lockers to use, so plan to arrive early to the venue if you have any concern about your bag getting through the venue.
If no lockers are available at the stadium to store your belongings, you can see if any nearby bar or hotel will watch your stuff. Most hotels will protect your belongings if they have space in their storage area for a small fee.
As a note, I successfully brought a tote bag into Fenway Park when I went to games in 2021. The tote bag was a single compartment and fit the size requirements that the Red Sox are enforcing, so consider that or a clear tote bag for your next game.
