Coors Field Bag Policy

Coors Field is the Major League Baseball home of the Colorado Rockies at 2001 Blake St, Denver, CO 80205. The bag policy at Coors Field is only allows single-compartment bags to enter the venue that doesn’t exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″. That means that backpacks and other bags with multiple compartments can’t enter the stadium for security reasons.

My Clear Bag Recommendation + My Experience

I’ve been to Coors Field twice for games. While I didn’t bring a bag to either game, I had friends who did. The friends who did bring a bag to the venue had a clear single compartment bag with them. There were no issues at the gate trying to get those clear bags through the bag check. Therefore, if you are looking to bring a bag to Coors Field, consider bringing a clear single compartment bag with you. 

 

From my experience, I’ve never had an issue bringing my clear fanny pack to any venue. My clear fanny pack is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ in size, so it is far below the max size of Coors Field. Plus, I don’t mind walking around a venue with it since it is not bulky.

How Does Coors Field Review Your Bag?

Fans must enter a metal detector before scanning their ticket for a Rockies game. If a fan has a bag with them, it goes through a separate security check to ensure it does not have multiple compartments, does not exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″, and does not have any prohibited items in them. If there are any issues with the bag or items inside, the fan must either surrender them at the gate or find a place to leave their bag and belongings before entering the stadium.

 

What Items Can’t You Bring into Coors Field?

There is an extensive list of prohibited items that fans can’t bring into the venue on game day. Below are some of the most common things you can’t bring into the stadium. However, it is best to visit the official information guide for Coors Field before your next visit to ensure the rules stay the same.

 

• Any bag with multiple compartments
• Any bag that exceeds 16″ x 16″ x 8″
• Weapons
• Hard-sided coolers
• Laser pointers
• Alcoholic beverages
• Glass bottles

 

What Should You Do If Your Bag Is Too Big to Enter the Colorado Rockies Ballpark?

If your bag is too big or has too many compartments, there is a bag claim check at Coors Field that fans can use at Gate E. The staff at Coors Field will tag your items and leave them in this area for you to pick up after the game. However, guests assume liability for using this service if anything goes missing at the game’s conclusion.

 

If your bag or items can’t enter the stadium, your next best option is to put them in your car.

 

However, if you don’t want to leave your bags with the stadium staff, you can see if the local hotels near the ballpark will hold onto your stuff. Most hotels charge a fee for holding onto your bag since they have limited space to hold onto additional bags during a baseball game or concert.
