Cleveland Browns Stadium (initially FirstEnergy Stadium) is home to the Cleveland Browns NFL Team at 100 Alfred Lerner Way, Cleveland, Ohio, 44114. The bag policy at the Cleveland Browns Stadium allows fans to bring in clear bags that don’t exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ in size. Fans can also bring in non-transparent small wristlets and similar types of bags that can fit in the hand of the fan.
Here is the complete Cleveland Browns Stadium bag policy for your next game or concert. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.
Approved Bags
All NFL venues have the same clear bag policy in place, which means getting a clear bag for a Cleveland Browns game allows that to enter all other stadiums. Below are the types of bags that fans can bring into the stadium.
- A clear single-compartment tote bag that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x” 12″
- One-gallon clear bag/Ziploc bag/ freezer bag
- ADA-specific bags
Medical bags/diaper bags. However, try and bring a clear bag so there are no issues at the gate. Otherwise, the stadium security staff may take longer to review your bag and or turn it away if it is not clear. - Purses that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
- Wallets
- A small clutch bag that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5.” (Essentially, you want this type of bag to fit the size of your hand.)
My Clear Bag Recommendation + Experience
While I have not been to the Cleveland Browns Stadium, I have friends who have who brought bags to the venue. The stadium staff only allows clear bags to enter the stadium. You can’t bring traditional backpacks into the venue for a game. From my experience going to football games, I can confirm that venues only want you to bring a clear bag with you. I’ve seen that clear bag only sign when I went to a college football game in November 2023, a game at Gillette Stadium in September 2023, and a game at Highmark Stadium in December 2022.
Below is a video of me explaining why I recommend bringing a clear fanny pack to the game.

How Does the Cleveland Browns Stadium Security Team Review Bags?
Fans arriving at the Cleveland Browns Stadium for a game or concert will first go through a metal detector screening at the gate before entering the stadium. Fans with a bag will go through a bag inspection check at the gate in a separate line. The bag inspection checks the size of the bag, the content inside, and if the bag follows the clear bag policy. Assuming your bag is compliant to come into the venue with you, you will return it to the stadium.
What are the Prohibited Items that Fans Can’t Bring into Cleveland Browns Stadium?

Is There a Bag Check or Locker Storage Area at Cleveland Browns Stadium?
Yes, there is a bag locker storage area at the Cleveland Browns Stadium that fans can use if they can’t bring their bag into the arena. The bag check tents are on Alfred Lerner Way and East Drive. The bag check costs $10 per bag, and these lockers only stay open for thirty minutes at the event’s conclusion. Also, these locker sites have limited space, so plan to arrive two hours before your event to get a space to store your bag.
If you plan on tailgating in the parking lots before a game, plan to leave all bags, coolers, and backpacks behind in a car before walking to the stadium entrance. Backpacks, clear backpacks, diaper bags, coolers, and more can’t enter the venue via the bag policy, so leave them all behind in a car. Otherwise, you will need to walk back to your car and leave them there so you can enter the stadium.
Finally, if you can’t get a locker at the stadium for your bag, see if a nearby hotel can watch your stuff. Hotels generally charge a small bag holding fee per bag they must watch. Space for bag storage comes on a first come and first served basis, so plan to arrive two hours before kickoff to get a space for your bag.
