Here are the NRG Stadium parking tips for your next event.

Official Parking at the Stadium

There are several official parking lots that surround NRG Stadium for fans to use on matchday. My Recommendation on Parking + Experience with SpotHero

From my experience with SpotHero, you find better and more affordable parking deals if you walk a few blocks to the stadium. Parking at an NFL stadium can be expensive, so if you want to save some money on your trip, check out the SpotHero listing above. I’ve been using this service for years and always save on parking compared to what the official lots charge. The only downside to using unofficial parking lots is that most don’t allow you to tailgate with grills and tents, so consider that if tailgating is essential to you.

NRG Stadium Handicap Parking

There are ADA parking spaces available on the north and south sides of NRG Stadium for fans to use. Texans fans will need to show a valid parking pass and state-issue license plate to leave their vehicle in the parking lots. In addition to ADA parking, fans can head over to Amegy Bank Gate and Coca-Cola Gate for drop offs and pick ups. Amegy Bank Gate is at the southwest entrance while Coca-Cola Gate is at the northeast entrance.

Should I Take Public Transportation?

Fans looking to take public transportation to the game can use the Metrorail service. The light rail brings fans between downtown, midtown, the Museum District, the Texas Medical Center, and finally to the stadium. In addition to the Metrorail, you can also use Uber and Lyft to get to and from the arena.

Can you Tailgate at the Stadium?

Tailgating takes place in all parking lots up to four hours before kick-off. Fans can bring in speakers that don’t exceed 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide to play music. In addition to tailgating in the parking lots, you can also venture to the local bars near the stadium before or after a game. Some fan favorite bars include Sidelines bar, The Duck Off Sports Bar, Bar Esperanto, and Daiquiri Explosion.
