Highmark Stadium Parking

Highmark Stadium (formerly known as New Era Field and Ralph Wilson Stadium) is home to the Buffalo Bills NFL team. There is ample parking around the stadium that goes for around $40 a spot. However, with the new stadium being built, one of the parking lots (Colton RV Camper Lot) is now under construction, which does limit some parking options.

Here is the complete Highmark Stadium parking guide for your next event along with my experience and recommendation.

Official Parking at the Stadium

Lots 1, 3, 4,5 ,7 are open for fans to park on game day to watch their team play. Plan to arrive four hours before home games as parking spaces fill up quickly with tailgaters. Fans looking to bring their campers to the game can you lots 6 and 7. Also, as a tip, consider bringing a shovel with you in your car for games later in the season. The lake snow effect can hit at anytime, so be prepared to shovel your car out after a game.

You can visit this link to see the parking map in and around the stadium. Also, visit the Bills official parking link on their website for the most up to date information.

My Recommendation on Parking + Experience with SpotHero

I’ve been using SpotHero now for years and always recommend it to others looking for more affordable parking. My recommendation is to visit the SpotHero listing above to compare parking prices a few block away from the stadium. Most of the time the parking rates will be cheaper than what you will see directly at the stadium.

Highmark Stadium Handicap Parking

There are Buffalo Bills handicap parking spaces available in lots 2 and 6 for fans to use when coming to a game. ADA parking on the game day goes for $30 for a parking space. Bills fans will need to show a valid parking pass and state-issue license plate to leave their vehicle in the parking lots. In addition to ADA parking, fans can use Westbound Morehead Street for drop-offs and pick-ups at the venue.

My Experience and Recommendation on Parking

When I went to Highmark Stadium in 2022, I took the bus from downtown Buffalo to the stadium. In my opinion, that might be the best way to go to and from the stadium for a few reasons. First, the parking lot at Highmark Stadium costs about $40 while the bus ticket was only a few dollars. Second, there is absolutely no cell service around the stadium, which means calling an Uber after a game is next to impossible. My recommendation is to take the bus from downtown Buffalo if that is your starting location to get to and from the stadium.

However, if you want to tailgate in the parking lots before the game, then you should drive to the venue. There were so many people in the parking lots tailgating when we arrived at the stadium. If you are looking to tailgate in the parking lots, try and get to the stadium four hours before kickoff.

Should I Take Public Transportation?

Buffalo Bills fans looking to take public transportation to the game can use the Rally shuttle service. Rally bus services bring fans from western New York to and from the arena. Finally, fans can use Uber and Lyft to get to and from the arena.

Where is the Rideshare Lot?

The rideshare lot is directly left of the stadium between Lot 3 and Lot 4. As a note, I didn’t have any reception at Highmark Stadium for a game. Therefore, calling an Uber or Lyft is going to be extremely difficult. There are taxis waiting out in the ride share lot to drive you home, but be aware that calling an Uber or Lyft after a game will be difficult due to the service.

Can you Tailgate at the Stadium Parking Lots?

Bills Mafia brings tailgating to a whole new level in their parking areas and stadium lots at the venue. New Era Field parking lots open four hours before kickoff, so come early to party with Bills fans in the parking lots. Tailgating is sometimes even more popular to do than catch the game in Buffalo!

From my experience, you have to tailgate before a Bills game. Don’t worry if you don’t want to drink a lot, there are many things to do via tailgating before a game. There are countless shops all outside the stadium selling merchandise for you to pick up for the game. Plus, there are tailgating areas that you can purchase that offer unlimited food, which is what I did.

Check out the Highmark Stadium Food options ahead of time before entering the stadium! Also, be sure to visit the Highmark Stadium Bag Policy guide to see what bags you can bring into the arena.

Conclusion: Parking

My parking experience at Highmark Stadium was with using the bus. If you are coming from Buffalo and don’t mind taking a 40 minute bus ride to the stadium, consider using that as a way to get to and from the game.

However, if you want to tailgate in the parking lots before the match, then expect to pay around $40 to park in 2023. There are multiple parking lots that surround the stadium to use for a game.
